If you pay income taxes to the state of Georgia, you have a choice to re-direct a portion of those dollars to provide scholarships for eligible students who transfer from public school or enter pre-kindergarten or kindergarten at Brentwood School.  This re-direct of your tax payments is made possible through our participation in the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program, a student scholarship organization created under a 2008 Georgia law that permits taxpayers to take a Georgia income tax credit (not merely a deduction) for scholarship contributions.  In addition, all contributions are also deductible for income tax purposes.  Because our school participates in the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program, contributors to GOAL are permitted to designate that their contributions be used to provide scholarships at Brentwood.

Follow These Simple Steps

I.  Get Pre-Qualified

• Complete the IT-QEE-TPI form.  The form is available for download from the Georgia GOAL Scholarship website - www.goalscholarship.org or from the Brentwood School office.
• Return the form to Brentwood School for filing on your behalf with the Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR).
• Receive confirmation.  The DOR will review your form and confirm that the $50 million yearly cap has not been exceeded.  The DOR will then send a copy of the approved form by mail.

II.  Write your check to help children attend Brentwood School.

• Make your check payable to the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program and list Brentwood School on the Memo line of the check.
• Deliver your check AND a photocopy of your approved IT-QEE-TPI form to Brentwood School.  (Your check must be made within 30 days of receiving DOR approval.)
• Our school office will mail your check and copy of the approved form to GOAL.

III.  Get Credit

• GOAL will send you a confirmation form that, along with the approved IT-QEE-TPI form, you will need to send in with your state tax return to claim tax credit.
• GOAL will send Brentwood School the money for scholarships.
