Brentwood Girls Cross Country Win State!
October 31, 2016

Brentwood Cross Country Varsity Boys & Girls teams participated in the GISA State Championship on Saturday at Augusta Prep. There were 16 AA class schools participating.

The Brentwood Girls walked away with top honors as both a team and individuals. Michael Ann Hood won the championship as the first person crossing the line. She and Erica Kay, who placed 8th, received All-State awards. As a team, the Lady Eagles earned their third straight title as GISA AA State Champs! Following Hood & Kay were teammates Becky Carter in 11th place, Avery Phillips in 18th place, Jil Musselwhite in 20th place, Carson McAfee in 22nd place and Lauren Crabb in 39th place.

The boys had a tough competition and Brentwood boys each finished the race with a personal best time. Drew Wilson was Brentwood's first boy crossing the line in 33rd place. Following were Blaine Alligood in 36th place, Hagan Boyen in 45th place, Christopher Kitchens in 52nd place, Wynn Andrews in 56th place and TJ Roughton in 62nd place. They placed 9th as a team.

We are extremely proud of both teams and all the successes they have had this year.
