Brentwood turned in its best offensive performance in their final game of the Frederica Spring Classic. In the 9:00AM, Saturday morning contest the Eagles collected 10 hits in route to a 9-3 victory over Valwood Academy. The Eagles lighted up the scoreboard early and often as they scored in each of the first 5 innings. In the initial frame Will Ahrens drove in Schley Moore for their first run. Hart Williford had a clutch 2-strike RBI single in the second inning to drive in Chase Everett for Brentwood’s second run. Peyton Massengale and Ahrens crossed the plate in the third on Chase Everett’s base hit. In the fourth Denver Pingley had a key two run double driving in Ahrens and Moore after Jay Musselwhite scored on a wild pitch. The Eagles concluded their scoring when Jay Musselwhite smacked a two run homer, his first as an Eagle, midway up the light pole in left field driving in Hart Williford.

Peyton Massengale got the starting assignment on the mound as he worked the first 3 innings striking out 3, walking 1 and allowing 1 earned run on 5 hits. Will Ahrens shut out the Valiants over the final 3 innings extending his string of shutout innings to 15. The senior right-hander, headed to Center College, whiffed 6 while surrendering just 1 hit and 1 base-on-balls.

Multiple offensive performers were Denver Pingley (H-2,RBI-2), Hart Williford (H-2,R,RBI), Jay Musselwhite (R-2,H,HR,RBI-2), Chase Everett (BB-2,H,R RBI-2), Will Ahrens (R-2,H,2B,RBI,HP), Schley Moore (R-2,H,HP) and Peyton Massengale (H-2,R).
