Philosophy

Brentwood School affirms the principles which perpetuate the American heritage of a democratic society under God. Inherent in these principles is concern for the maximum growth of the individual.

As a college preparatory institution, the school will enable the students to develop fundamental academic skills.   It will further help the child develop a hunger for knowledge, an appreciation for the fine arts, an interest in diversity, and principles of good judgement and character.   The curriculum is sufficiently broad in scope to provide for varied levels of ability and diverse interests.

The school plays a vital role in the molding of a child's character.  Brentwood seeks, therefore, to help each individual develop a positive self concept from which should follow self-discipline, self-respect, and respect for the rights, property, and feelings of others.
