Bonifay Signs with Flagler College
November 14, 2011

Brentwood senior Andy Bonifay signed a National Letter of Intent Monday, November 14, to attend and play baseball at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida.  Bonifay has been a four-year starter for the Eagles, emerging this past spring as the ace of their staff in addition to sharing catching duties when not pitching.  In addition to his participation in Brentwood's athletic programs, Andy also played an extensive summer schedule for the East Cobb Patriots travel team during which he competed against many of the top teams and players in the southeast.  Flagler College is a member of the Division II Peach Belt Conference.  Flagler Head Coach Barnett commented, "We are very excited with Andy's decision and look forward to having him as part of our program.  We really like his make-up and the fact that he comes from a good baseball background.  Our staff thinks not only that he has a chance to contribute quickly, but that he should continue to develop and get better as he physically matures and concentrates solely on baseball."  Brentwood Head Coach Brannon Bonifay stated, " We are certainly proud of Andy as he has been a big part of our success over the past two seasons in which we have won back-to-back region championships and consecutive state final four finishes.  It is very fulfilling when one of our student-athletes, who has goals of playing college athletics, sees those dreams come true due to his commitment, character, and competitive abilities on and off the field."

Andy is the son of Brannon and Lynn Bonifay of Sandersville.  Congratulations, Andy!
