From Sandersville, take SR88 to Wrens. Just South of Wrens, turn left from SR88 onto US1 North. Proceed through Wrens and then towards Augusta on US1 North. As you are entering the Augusta area, you will come to the US1/I-520 (Bobby Jones Expressway) Interchange. Go under I-520 (Bobby Jones Expressway) and immediately exit from US1 by taking a right on the loop ramp. Follow the loop up to I-520 (BJE) and proceed on I-520 (BJE) for approximately 5 miles to the I-20 interchange. (Note: The I-20 interchange will be the fourth interchange you come to on I-520/BJE following the Gordon Highway Interchange, the Wrightsboro Road interchange, and the Wheeler Road interchange). Exit from I-520/BJE onto I-20 East toward Columbia, SC. Proceed on I-20 East for approximately 2 miles, then exit at Washington Road/SR28. Turn right from the I-20 ramp onto Washington Road toward Downtown Augusta. Proceed 2+ miles on Washington Road, and just as Washington Road becomes John C. Calhoun Expressway, you need to exit from Washington Road to the right on Broad Street. Follow Broad Street toward Downtown Augusta as Broad Street will meander back under John Calhoun Expressway then in ¼ mile come to the intersection of Milledge Road (red light). Turn right from Broad Street onto Milledge Road and Curtis Baptist High School & Gym will be immediately on your right. (Curtis Baptist High School & Gym are actually located in Broad Street/Milledge Road intersection quadrant on your right as you approach Milledge Road via Broad Street). Allow 1 ½ hours for travel time. NOTE: These directions take you to Curtis Baptist High School & Gym. Currently, Curtis Baptist has no athletic fields and has to rent them. For the most part, outdoor games are played at Riverview Park located in North Augusta, SC., but not necessarily all the time as is the case in baseball. Curtis Baptist is currently in the planning process to build their own athletic fields. Until that time, please contact Curtis Baptist School (738-0196) or Brentwood School to determine the site and directions to their outdoor athletic events. |
